Apple Leisure Group Grows Caribbean Presence with New Secrets St. Lucia Resort & Spa

Apple Leisure Group(ALG), the all-inclusive hospitality and wholesale group, now part of Hyatt, said an ALG affiliate has entered into an agreement that will bring the Secrets brand to St. Lucia. Secrets St. Lucia Resort & Spa will be the second branded property of the AMR Collection portfolio on the island, and will follow the opening of Zoëtry Marigot Bay St. Lucia, which is located 40 minutes away from the future Secrets.

Once rebranding is completed, by late 2023, after extensive renovations starting this fall, the adults-only Secrets St. Lucia will feature 342 rooms and suites. The former St. James’s Club Morgan Bay(picture above), the renovated resort will offer guests a location on the island with an unspoiled stretch of perfect, white-sand beach lined with palms on a beachfront setting. Just minutes from the Rodney Bay Marina, Cap Estate Golf Course, and capital city of Castries, resort guests will enjoy a view of mountains, volcanic beaches, reef-diving sites and fishing villages.

“AMR Collection is thrilled to expand its presence in the eastern Caribbean gem of St. Lucia,” said Javier Coll, group president of global business development at Apple Leisure Group. “The spectacular island full of natural wonder is the perfect destination for the Secrets Resorts & Spas brand to welcome guests seeking luxury, adults-only getaways, For more than 20 years, AMResorts has successfully cultivated the Secrets Resorts & Spas brand to 22 resorts in world class destinations—the signing of Secret St. Lucia Resort & Spa is the right next step to meet traveler needs and expand the brand footprint to this exclusive destination.”

As part of the brand’s signature Unlimited-Luxury concept, Secrets St. Lucia will offer five gourmet a la carte dining choices, five bars and lounges, unlimited international and domestic top-shelf spirits, 24-hour room concierge services, swim-out suites, pool and beach service, a wedding gazebo, a Secrets Spa by Pevonia and fitness center, two beachfront pools with spectacular views of the Caribbean, and day to night activities and entertainment.

“The acquisition of the future Secrets St. Lucia Resort & Spa aligns with our target investment strategy to offer unique and beautiful experiences for our future guests while creating significant upside for various stakeholders— the local community, guests, employees and investors,” said Jeff Mullen, CEO of Mullen Real Estate Capital (MREC), a fast-growing Caribbean and Latin America hospitality investment and asset management company with a sizeable luxury resort portfolio, most of which are managed by AMResorts, including its recent acquisition of Secrets St. Lucia Resort & Spa. “We’re excited to begin the transformation of this resort, in September this year, and continue to seek out similar investment opportunities throughout the Caribbean and Latin America.’
